Getting to Taiwan was a painless 1 hour and 40 minute flight from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Taiwan Sungshan Airport. Even better was the ride aboard the EVA "Hello Kitty" themed plane, which was pretty entertaining for the kids. It was about time we were introduced to Shay's old mission stomping grounds and more recently his frequent business travel destination. The weather was beautiful: Not too hot, clear blue skies and fall breezes. Here are some highlights from our October family trip:
Military Ballet: Morning changing of the guard at the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial in Taipei.
Crowd interested in laowai (foreign) children Addie and Elijah at CKS Memorial.
Strangers snapping pics with the kids.
Batman on location in Taipei
Outside view of CKS memorial hall.
Shay's colleagues Terence and Allen treated us to a great lunch at the original Taipei Din Tai Fung and we had mango bing afterwards for a sweet treat.

Shay and Addie rode a double "attached" bike. Our ride didn't last too long as the hills were steep and the roads dangerous with tourist traffic.
